TAKE THE WHOLE SCENE BACK IN TIME

Build your 1980s photo prompt.

Choose the details. Copy your prompt into an image tool with your own reference photo.

02
YOUR CUSTOM PROMPT

Prompt text only. Image generation happens in your chosen tool.

TWO WAYS TO FIND YOUR THROWBACK

Same moment.
Different decade.

Use the film studio for a quick finish, or the prompt builder for a scene with period clothes and styling.

01 / A quick film finish

Choose a photo, pick a film preset and adjust the grain. Download a PNG with your chosen border and date. The original file stays untouched.

02 / A whole new scene

Build a prompt, then add it with your reference photo to your image tool. Check faces, hands and details in the result; likeness is never guaranteed.

GET THE FINISH YOU WANT

A few things to know.

Is this an AI photo generator?

The film studio uses local image processing. It changes color, grain and framing without generating new faces or scenes. The prompt builder creates text for a separate image generation tool.

Do you upload or store my photo?

No. Selected photos are processed in your browser’s memory. This application does not send them to a server or save them in browser storage. Reloading clears your selected photo. Your image tool has its own policy if you choose to use the prompt there.

Is it free?

The film filters, PNG downloads and prompt builder are free. There is no account to create within the editor. Your chosen external image service may have its own fees or limits.

What makes a photo feel like the 1980s?

A warm or faded color palette, film grain and soft highlights help create a print-like finish. A scene prompt can also describe the clothes, hair, lighting and objects of the period.

What happens to very large photos?

Photos are scaled to a maximum 1600-pixel edge before processing to keep editing responsive on phones. Downloads use that working resolution, with extra pixels for a border when selected.
